The Chinese New Year that passed last month has welcomed us into the Year of the Snake.
As we start to step a little surer footed into the year, and the bulbs start to peek up through the cold ground, it’s a great time to think about shedding, releasing and letting go. Even though snakes can have negative connotations in our culture, if we can suspend our conditioning for a while, this idea of being able to shed a skin is both fascinating and inviting.
2025 is also a 9 year in Numerology. 2025 = 9 ✨ (2+0+2+5 = 9)
In numerology, the number 9 represents completion—the end of a cycle and the beginning of something new. It's a powerful number of transformations, wisdom, and releasing what no longer serves you. As we step into this year of abundance and fresh opportunities, what are you ready to let go of?
Better yet, if you could embody that snake energy, what skin would you like to shed and what self would choose to emerge this time next year, fresher, pure, perhaps a little raw but nevertheless brand new?
Whilst doing research into this visualisation technique I discovered that the process is painless because snakes gradually produce a lubricant leading up to the shedding process.
So for this month, every morning when I am saying my mirror affirmations and massaging in Idan oil I am holding these questions of a new self front-of-mind, building up my slippery layer, and trusting the process will be smooth and painless.

RELAXING: Abi had a wonderful time while visiting the 154 art fair in Morocco with a world renowned spa. A sure fire add to your travel list for 2025.
