The Spring Solstice in March is the time that we traditionally would celebrate the New Year in ancient times, before the onset of the Roman calendar that makes very little sense to our circadian rhythms and the rhythms of the earth. We knew there was a reason we didn’t feel motivated until the weather warmed up and new bulbs start to sprout  The solstice is a particularly poignant and grounding opportunity to go easy on yourself, get in touch with your intuition, and focus inwards, particularly when combined with this sull moon and solar Eclipse, so here is what we are loving on whilst loving extra hard on ourselves this season:

SEEING: Elixir Festival challenges perceptions around dance and age with works by iconic artists from around the world alongside inspiring performances from dancers drawn from our local communities in north and east London. April 10-20th.

The amazing Carlos Acosta acclaimed Cuban dancer, once Principle dancer at the Royal ballet for 5 years is showcasing his ‘most personal work yet’ – On Before. See him dance a full-length show again - homage to his late mother and the most personal work he has ever created. Showing at the Hippodrome Birmingham May 6th-7th. Not to be missed.

LISTENING: Joni Mitchell is Back on Spotify! Her Ladies of the Canyon album works great for wash days, staring dreamily out of windows, twirling naked in your living room and ALL generalised spring whimsy activities. 

ESCAPING: One of Abi’s favourite places to be with nature and get out of London, Virginia Waters, part of Windsor Great Park. Just in time for the Easter hols - a lovely escape for both adults and children with endless hidden trails of forests for exploring, tree climbing and reconnecting with creative imagination.
